Hi Mary,

Thanks for posting and thanks for buying the film. I think the feelings we both were feeling after the election were shared by millions. It's what inspired me to make the movie. I wish I coulds answer your question of what are we becoming. I certainly don't know but I am fearful of the direction we appear to be heading.

Did you ever think we would be living in a time in which our government would be openly discussing it's torture policy? I know I didn't. And to me that's part of "that feeling". We are so far down the rabbit hole that it's hard to not openly gawk at these people, as if they were aliens.

Beacause to my way of thinking and living, they are.

So, I don't have answers but I do feel we need to start talking to each other and asking the questions.

Tuned in to Breakfast with Nancy on my way home from work this morning. You were describing just how I felt when Bush was re-elected. Up until that time, I followed politics with one ear. Either my canidate won or lost - life went on. However, what I felt when Bush got re-elected was foreign to me. I was actually depressed over it and went thru stages of grief as though a dear friend had died. I had thought my grief a little extreme since the whole country couldn't be wrong, could it? And my feelings of needing to hide my distaste for Bush, lest someone think me un-American, was also new to me.
Anyway, I could rattle on, but the bottom line is that I was so excited about hearing of your experiences and your documentary, that I went right home and Googled your name and bought the DVD. I cannot wait to watch it and share it with my grown children (in college). What, Michael is our country becoming?
